For the 2nd year in a row, the Tamworth Show has been cancelled. The Tamworth P and A Committee met on Wednesday night and made the unanimous decision to cancel – which the President of the Tamworth Pastrol and Agricultural Show Society President, Greg Townsend, said was due to the growing concern around the health and wellbeing of our volunteers and community in-light of the current COVID outbreaks.
The COVID restrictions would impact greatly on the number of people who would be able to attend the show. The financial impact was also a deciding factor, with the AELEC needing to be at full capacity to meet the costs of staging the show.
Other events cancelled in recent weeks due to the latest COVID lockdown include the Ag-Quip, NCHA Futurity, Hats off To Country plus this morning we announced the cancellation of the Tamworth Antiques and Collectables Fair which was due to be held at the Tamworth Town Hall next weekend.
