Rail travel affected by Tamworth viaduct repairs

IT MAY BE ANOTHER MONTH BEFORE RAIL TRAVELLERS BETWEEN WERRIS CREEK AND ARMIDALE CAN AGAIN HOP ON BOARD A TRAIN FOR THE TRIP.

FOLLOWING A TRUCK HITTING THE PEEL ST VIADUCT IN TAMWORTH ON MARCH 3, PASSENGERS ARE CATERED FOR BY BUS TRAVEL.

ANOTHER TRUCK HIT A SECOND VIADUCT IN MARIUS ST ON MARCH 16, AND REPAIRS TO BOTH STRUCTURES -  DETERMINED TO BE "MORE COMPLEX THAN FIRST THOUGHT, - WILL NOT BE COMPLETED UNTIL THE END OF APRIL.

A SPOKESPERSON FOR TRANSPORT FOR NSW SAID THEY ARE WORKING TO DELIVER THE NECESSARY REPAIR WORKS TO BOTH OF STRUCTURES.

PASSENGERS ARE ALSO ADVISED OF PLANNED TRACKWORK FROM WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3, UNTIL SATURDAY, APRIL 6, WHICH MEANS COACHES WILL REPLACE RAIL SERVICES BETWEEN ARMIDALE AND SYDNEY AND MOREE AND SYDNEY, IN BOTH DIRECTIONS "FOR THE WHOLE JOURNEY".
