'Strain on Resources': RFS tackle multiple blazes

There’s no rest for firefighters who are facing yet another state of emergency, with local crews battling multiple blazes in the region or helping out in other parts of NSW.


On Thursday, Tamworth Rural Fire Service volunteers faced up to 20 spot fires sparked by thunderstorms overnight.


According to the Fires Near Me App, crews are tackling 13 incidents within 50 kilometres of the city today.


Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the handover of government powers to the RFS Commissioner late Thursday afternoon.
