Players and training staff from the Newcastle Knights will run welfare and nutrition classes as well as training sessions at the Farrer Memorial Agricultural School over the next two days.
Farrer Coach David Gale says the partnership with the Newcastle club is providing their students with as many life lessons off the field as it is on the field.
"The big part for us is that it’s not about the rugby league, it’s about making our young men better people and developing their skills in other areas."Gale said.
"The Newcastle knights have a strong commitment that better people make better football players.
"Certainly for us better young men make better students for us here at Farrer, so that’s the focus around the dietician and welfare officers work."
