$6.6 million aged care development in Hillvue submitted to Tamworth Regional Council

The development application for a new two-storey, 144 bed aged care residential home has been submitted to Tamworth Regional Council.

The $6.6 million development by Signature Care is located on The Ringers Road, Hillvue and will include 144 beds, a library, hairdresser and other amenities.

The development application states the new facility will have 50 staff and the entire building will be just under 9.5 thousand square metres.

Signature Care is an Australian company owned and operated by Graeme Croft and his family and was the biggest winner of government licences for aged care in the 2018-2019 allocations.

The company received just over 10% of all places allocated last year and developed 6 new facilities including Grafton and Wagga Wagga.

Signature Care's 144 aged care places in Tamworth were allocated for 2018 and originally slated to be developed at 64 Valley Drive, Tamworth.

The new facility is listed as catering for financially or socially disadvantaged people or patients with dementia.

Signature Care has been contacted for comment.

The Aged Care Approvals Round for 2020 has been postponed so providers can help slow the spread of COVID-19 according to the Australian Health Department.
