Two men charged following alleged armed robbery

Two men have been charged following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery.


About 2am on Thursday, a man in a hotel was confronted by two armed men demanding cash, before he managed dialling Triple Zero.


Strike Force Fryer was established to investigate armed robberies throughout New England Police District.


New England Police District officers responded and arrested an 18-year-old man as he was trying to leave the scene in an alleged stolen car as part of Strike Force Fryer.


Following inquiries, a 26-year-old man was arrested yesterday at a home on Niagra Street, Armidale.


The 26-year-old man has been charged with taking and driving conveyance without consent of the owner, aggravated break and enter into a dwelling in company steal, robbery armed with offensive weapon (3).


The 18-year old man has been charged with taking and driving conveyance without consent of the owner, aggravated break and enter into a dwelling in company steal, robbery armed with offensive weapon (2).


Both men are bail refused to appear at Armidale Local Court on later in January.
