Tamworth is one step closer to having a statue of John Williamson this 50th Tamworth Country Music Festival with the NSW Government offering a grant of $30,000.
Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson, said he was very excited about the project and pleased that the NSW Government was able to supply such a contribution to the project.
Funding for the 99,000 dollar statue is being raised through Go-Fund Me, with the sculpture to be created by Gunnedahs Tanya Barlett with the statue to be unveiled at the 50th Country Music Festival in January 2022.
