Woman escapes attempted aggravated robbery




A woman managed to escape her attackers during an attempted robbery in North Tamworth.


Between 3am and 4am on Tuesday, a 24-year-old woman was walking home from work through a park located on North Street and Darling Street, when she was approached by two teenagers.


The first teenager demanded the woman hand over cash before assaulting her.


The woman managed to break free and ran from the location, leaving the offender empty-handed.


IN OTHER NEWS:


Officers from Oxley Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.


The first male is described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 160cm tall with a slim build, aged between 14-15 years old with black hair. He has a small tattoo on the back of his left hand and was wearing a black hooded jumper and football shorts.


The second male is described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance and between 14-15 years old wearing a dark navy t-shirt.


Police would like anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about the two males to come forward.
