The Tingha community finally has certainty about its future following Friday’s announcement the town will officially move into the Inverell Shire Council as of the first of July.
The transfer was made official via a formal proclamation by the NSW Governor and will come into effect at the start of the financial year to make the process easier on both councils and Tingha residents.
The process for the move was started back in 2016 when the Tingha Citizen’s Association initiated a petition to relocate to the Inverell Shire which was strongly supported by the community.
