Three charged as crackdown on drug supply continues



Three more people have been arrested and charged as Strike Force Heyward continues to target drug supply in the Tamworth area.


Strike Force Heyward was initiated in July 2019 to investigate the supply of MDMA and cocaine in licensed premises in Tamworth.


On December 9, an 18-year-old man was charged with supplying prohibited drugs [more than indictable quantity x 3] and conspiracy to supply prohibited drug.


He was granted conditional bail to appear at Armidale Local Court in January.


The following day, an 18-year-old woman was charged with supplying prohibited drug [commercial quantity], supply prohibited drug [more than indictable quantity x 7] ), supplying drugs on an ongoing basis and participating in a criminal group.


She was refused bail and appeared in Tamworth Local Court on Friday where she was refused bail and remanded in custody to reappear in February 2020.


On Friday, police arrested and charged a 21-year-old woman.


She was charged with supplying prohibited drugs, and participating in a criminal group.

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court in January.


Investigations into the supply of illicit drugs in the Tamworth area are continuing.
