Tamworth Councillors Move Forward on Aquatic Centre Leaving Existing Pools Behind


Tamworth Regional Councillors unanimously endorsed a business case for the proposed new aquatic and leisure centre at last nights ordinary meeting.


The business case will now be presented to both State and Federal governments in aim of receiving co-funding for the $67 million project which is estimated to take three years to complete.


If the project is to gain support from the higher tears of government the cities two existing pools would be demolished by 2023.


The Business Case provides detailed information in the following areas:

· The case for a new facility

· Rationale for investment

· Options considered

· Economic analysis

· Proposed funding strategy
