Queensland's most infamous pest species, the cane toad, was found breaching the border lockdown after being discovered in Tamworth yesterday.
The toad was taken into a local Tamworth vet clinic after being discovered by some young children in North Tamworth.
Local Land Services has warned the community to be on the look out—after toads were also discovered in Glen Innes earlier this year.
Any sightings in Tamworth must be reported as the city falls into a bio-security zone.
The animal should be collected and held in a closed, well-ventilated container with some water.
Sightings can also be reported through the Local Land Services website.
