Police uncover 1032 cannabis plants at Bingara property

Police have uncovered more than 1000 cannabis plants on a single property during an investigation into the supply of the drug in the region. Earlier this month, officers from New England Police District focused on the cultivation of drugs in Bingara. Following inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a property on Upper Bingara Road, about 2pm on Monday.
During the two-day operation, officers located a large cannabis crop, seizing 1032 cannabis plants, 132 cannabis seedlings, a firearm and ammunition - all of which are due to be forensically examined. The cannabis has an estimated potential street value of $3.1 million. Inquiries are continuing.
