Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as investigations continue into armed robberies in the region.
In September 2019, Oxley Police District established Strike Force Chowan to investigate armed robberies in the region.
The investigation included the armed robbery of a service station at Narrabri in September.
About 4.40am on September 26, two men entered a service station on the Newell Highway and threatened the employee with a knife as they demanded money and cigarettes.
The men left the station with cash and cigarettes and were last seen running north through bushland towards Kelvin Vickery Avenue.
The employee was not harmed.
One of the men was described as being of an average build, about 185cm tall, tanned complexion, and approximately late-20s to 40 years old.
The second man is described as being of a shorter and thinner build.
Acting Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Jason Darcy, said police have interviewed various witnesses and received credible information via CrimeStoppers.
“Police wish to appeal to the person/s who have contacted Crime Stoppers to re-establish contact with police as the information they provided has been found to be credible and police believe the source has further information that will identify the two persons responsible for this matter,” he said.
