A man has been arrested for failing to comply with public health orders enforcing social distancing and isolation. About 11.10pm on Saturday, officers from Oxley Police District stopped a vehicle on Grace Street, Narrabri for a roadside breath test. The driver, a 24-year-old man, returned a negative result but was unable to provide a reasonable excuse for not being home, according to police. Following inquiries, it was revealed he had been warned twice and handed three penalty infringement notices already for failing to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. The 24-year-old was placed under arrest and taken to Narrabri Police Station where he was charged with not complying with noticed direction section 7/8/9 - COVID-19. He was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Sunday.
