Optus teams up with radio stations for country music festival
Tamworth’s only commercial radio stations have today announced a partnership with Optus that will see the Telecommunications giant sponsor 2TM and 92.9’s huge coverage of the 2020 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
2TM has long been associated with the Festival and next year the station will continue the successful multimedia approach to its coverage that was implemented in 2019, utilising sister station 92.9 with online and social media platforms for the biggest Festival coverage yet.
General manager Nikki Kenwrick said the partnership is very exciting and will provide some really great opportunities to our 2020 festival program.
“With some of the biggest names in the Country Music coming through our station doors, we will be keeping our audiences entertained with interviews and live performances both on air, and through our social media platforms," she said.
Optus Territory general manager North West NSW, Chris Simon, said they are excited to come onboard with 2TM and 92.9.
"This partnership will provide Optus the opportunity to expand our interaction with both festival attendees and locals, with giveaways, competitions and great deals planned," he said.
"It’s going to be a mammoth 10 days."
2TM will play Australian country music exclusively during its local coverage of the Festival, while 92.9 will feature many of the contemporary artists and Australian country music the Festival is synonymous with.
The station’s resources will be fully utilised to ensure the coverage is of the highest quality and showcases the best aspects of this iconic event in a live and local environment. The Optus coverage of the 2020 Tamworth Country Music Festival gets underway on January 17th.
