Military Aircrafts to Conduct Diversion Training at Tamworth Airport

Up to six F/A-18 A/B Classic Hornet aircrafts will conduct diversion training into Tamworth Airport over the next two nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

The aircrafts will conduct instrument approaches and ‘touch and go’ landings as part of the final phase of fighter training for aircrew.

Instrument Landing System approach training is an essential part of pilot training on fast-jet aircraft as it assists pilots to land at different airfields in all weather conditions.

Residents should note the times for the activities are subject to variables including weather and may change.
