A little about our judges:

On the outskirts of a town in the New England/North West region of NSW, Melanie Dyer first picked up a guitar and wrote the story of her life growing up on a 3rd generation sheep and cropping farm. The country singer/songwriter burst onto the music scene in 2015 with her debut EP, Lifetime – which heard her fusing her country roots with pop music influences. Since then Melanie has enjoyed massive success on Australian music charts and garnered two CMAA Golden Guitar Award nominations for Female Artist of the Year and Collaboration of the Year at the 2023 Awards. Melanie also made her debut performance at the 50th Anniversary CMA Music Festival in 2023, playing alongside Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean and Dan + Shay.

Andrew Farriss is considered by many as one of the great influencers of the Australian music scene. He has dedicated over four decades to writing, producing, and performing songs that have left undeniable marks on audiences across the nation – even around the world. As co-founder and key songwriter for INXS, to launching a hugely successful solo career in country music, his self-titled solo album released in 2021 gained mass acclaim. 2023 has seen him participate in Don McLean’s nationwide Australian tour, and Eurovision Australian judging panel. These achievements come on the heels of a Golden Guitar nomination in 2022.

Jarred Taylor began his musical career playing guitar in local bands around his hometown of Tamworth whilst he was still in school and has been writing and performing ever since.  He’s also the proud father to 6 beautiful children.  In 2018 Jarred became the first recipient of the prestigious John Minson Scholarship to attend the Country Music Academy of Australia. In recent years he has won the Unsigned category at the International Songwriting Competition, plus in 2020 he was named as a Top 10 Finalist in Toyota’s Star Maker competition. Known for his ability to combine powerful rock and roll with soulful country music, Jarred has worked with the likes of Kasey Chambers, Adam Brand, Fanny Lumsden and Kevin Bennett.
