Come and join us on Saturday, 7 March at the Gunnedah Rugby Club for a jam packed afternoon and night showcasing some unreal talent, boutique market stalls, fabulous food, wineries and breweries.


10. Tamworth FC 'Come-and-Try' Day

Sunday 8th March, 9am

Gipps Street Sports Field

Tamworth FC welcomes all returning and new players to the event. Tamworth Football Club is hosting a “Come-and-Try” Day at Gipps St Sporting fields on Sunday 8 March commencing at 9:00am.


Miniroos games will be played and committee members will be present to answer any registration queries, as well as assist with registering.


9. She Kills Monsters

Saturday 7th March, 7pm

The Civic Centre, 83 Chandos St, Gunnedah

This opening night from the Tamworth Dramatic Society will be a fantastic night out in Gunnedah at the Civic Theatre, with four shows in Tamworth in the following week.


She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans, a young woman grieving for her deceased sister. The Evans sisters never were especially close, but after Tilly’s death, Agnes stumbles upon a notebook containing a game scenario created by her sister.  She discovers that Tilly was a well-known Dungeons and Dragons player and that she was passionate about the game.  In order to unlock more secrets about her mysterious younger sibling, Agnes embarks on an action-packed adventure to discover more about her geeky sister than she previously cared to know.


8. Craft Shed Monthly Markets

Saturday 7th March, 8am - 1pm

109 Peel St, North Tamworth

Head on down to the Tamworth Chaft Shed markets this Saturday 8am-1pm. The Craft Shed is accross from Northgate shopping centre, and the entry to the Craft Shed is just off the roundabout. Lots of local market stalls to see all well stocked and some new lines. Plus yummy homestyle cooked breakfast, lunch and refreshments.


Mini workshop is plaster painting demonstrations and craft groups, Blacksmiths, Pottery, Lapidary, Wood Turning, Quilting and lots more.



7. Grace Under Pressure

Hidden stories within The Health Profession come to life onstage.

Saturday 7th March , 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Grace Under Pressure is a truly unique theatre experience. Based on hours of in-depth interviews with doctors and nurses about their experiences of training and working in hospitals, Grace Under Pressure is a surprising, intimate, and deeply moving theatre experience that reveals these hidden stories of health professionals in their own words.


Ranging from wildly funny to utterly heartbreaking, the stories within Grace Under Pressure will leave no audience member unaffected.


6. Manilla's Apple Tree Market Day

Saturday 7th March , 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Manilla’s Apple Tree Cafe, 38 Strafford Street Manilla

The Apple Tree Market Days are always looking for new stalls, more music and more crafts to come along and make the Market day fun for everyone! Come along on the first Saturday of every month at Manilla’s Apple Tree Cafe.


The Apple Tree Cafe has Fresh Food, great Staff, Nice homemade Sweet Treats, Healthy Salads, Fresh Smoothies and  all of this is with a nice relaxing Atmosphere!


5. Liverpool Plains Military Tattoo - Quirindi

Saturday 7th March, 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Longfield Park, Quirindi NSW 2343, Australia

Liverpool Plains Military Tattoo aims to showcase military bands in both a competition and exhibition format, and pays homage to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The event will be free entry once again and open to patrons of all ages. Free event!


Get your kilts out and your bagpipes at the ready!



4. 2020 International Women's Day Celebrations

Sunday 8th March, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Wests Diggers Club, 4 Kable Ave, Tamworth

2020 International Women's Day Celebrations with the presentation of the Empowerment Awards along with entertainment by the 2340 Big Band. General Admission is $25.00 each with this ticket it includes a light refreshment. Additional drinks to be purchased at the Bar.


2020 Zonta Empowerment Awards which honour women of all ages for their contribution to the community, cultural achievements, creativity, their potential and for their resilience.


Award Categories are Community Leader Woman of The Year, Equity Advocate Man of The Year, Indigenous Advocate Woman of the Year, Multicutural Advocate Woman of the Year, Experienced and Influenced Woman of the Year and Leading Lady Of Tamworth.



3. Barraba Show

Saturday 7th March, 7pm

Barraba Showgrounds, Rodney St, Barraba

The 2020 Barraba Show is back! This year's show will feature The sheep's back to your back, a special event for visitors to learn about working with wool including demonstrations of shearing, spinning, weaving, crocheting and knitting a fleece. Entertainment for the whole family will include; a display of Australia's most dangerous snakes at Neville Burns' Reptile Show; Kym Hagon's Horse Show; Rodney the Clown; Sideshow Alley; a Vintage Machinery Display and the Local Long Lunch.


3 day family pass is $30, Pensioners and students is $4 a day, Adult is $10 a day

Saturday 7 March: Horse events, Yard Dog trials, Cattle and poultry judging,Machinery and shearing displays, Pavilion displays Entertainment, Evening Open Rodeo, Live music

Sunday 8 March: More campdraft and horse events, Entertainment Woodchop.


2. Gunnedah Weeks of Speed

Saturday, Sunday 7th - 8th March

Gunnedah, NSW

Held during March each year, the Weeks of Speed Festival is a unique programme of heart-thumping speed-related activities that is great family friendly entertainment. This year the festivities will be held over four weekends. The Weeks of Speed Festival is a major event in the Shire's social calendar and will be officially launched on Saturday March 21, at the Show and Shine event to be held in the Woolworths Carpark.


March 7 Gunnedah Triathlon Club – Weeks of Speed Twilight Triathlon

Around the Gunnedah Memorial Pool Complex. Long and Short course for Individuals and Teams.

1. Country Championships

Saturday, Sunday 7th - 8th March

Tamworth Jockey Club, 28 Britten Rd, Taminda


The Country Championships are coming to Tamworth Sunday 8 March 2020! Come and experience the fun, fashion and excitement of country racing!


The Country Championships consists of a series of seven qualifying races, each held at a club representing one racing region in NSW. Each race is worth $150,000, and will be contested by eligible horses that must be under the care of a country trainer in that region.
