Lights on for renewable energy in New England area
The New England area is set to become a hub of renewable energy investment as Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall and Energy and Environment Minister Matt Kean today announced $80 million of state government funding to create the largest Renewable Energy Zone in the state.
The New England Solar Farm at Uralla and Metz Solar Farm at Armidale have already been approved and are expected to start construction in the next two years delivering power to over half a million homes.
MP Adam Marshall said the investment in our region is desperately needed after residents have endured drought, fires and coronavirus restrictions.
