The Speed of Now Part 1 has clinched the first Golden Guitar to be handed out in 2021 for being the top-selling country album in Australia during 2020.
The winner of this prestigious award must release their album during the previous year and is calculated from a collection of data compiled by ARIA between January 1 to December 31 of that year.
Dan Biddle, Chairman of the Country Music Association of Australia said it's all thanks to the fans.
"Congratulations to Keith and all of the artists and their teams in the Top-Selling Album of the Year category," Mr Biddle said, "I am sure they would all join me in thanking the fans who support their favourite artists by buying the CDs & vinyl and streaming the music that kept us going throughout 2020."
The Speed of Now Part 1 is Keith Urban's 10th studio album and has cracked sales and radio charts across the world including Australia, the UK, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, China, Russia, Belgium and South Africa.
The album simultaneously debuted at #1 on the charts in Australia, the USA, and Canada and features worldwide smash One Too Many featuring P!nk.
The top 5 selling country albums in Australia during 2020 include #2 Mayhem to Madness (The McClymonts), #3 Speed of Life (Adam Brand), #4 Christmas For Cowboys (Troy Cassar-Daley), #5 My Mind's Projection (Brad Cox).
