Here's how to be a part of Tamworth's Remembrance Day Service

For the first time ever Tamworth RSL Sub Branch will be streaming their Remembrance Day Service online.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only limited people can gather for the service being held at Tamworth's Town Hall today, however, everyone can be involved by streaming the service or supporting the Poppy Appeal.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said it's easy to take our freedoms for granted and hopes everyone will pause to remember those who fought in our name.

"Over the decades, thousands of men and women have given their lives in various theatres of war so that we might enjoy the freedoms we have today,” Mr Anderson said,

“We also remember those who have lost their lives through Australia’s involvement in various peacekeeping operations across the world."

Tamworth RSL Sub Branch's Poppy Appeal is raising funds for local veterans and their families and outlets can be found outside Tamworth Post Office and in the foyer of Tamworth Town Hall.

Today's service will also be streamed live at the West Leagues Club Terrace, Phillip Street.

The stream will go live at 10:15 am and the service will begin at 10:30 am.
