Gel pistol, cannabis, ice found during property search

Police are encouraging residents who have information about the supply of drugs in the region to step forward after a man was arrested following a property search. About 10pm on Friday, detectives, general duties officers and the Target Action Group, executed a search warrant at a house on Fitzroy Street, Barraba. During the search, police allegedly located and seized cannabis, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a gel pistol. A 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug and deal with property proceeds of crime. The man was given conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on July 6. Crime Manager of Oxley Police District, Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy, encouraged those who may have information on the supply of prohibited drugs in Tamworth and its surrounding areas to come forward. “If you have information that can assist our investigators, we would like to speak with you," he said.
