From COVID-19 to the bush fires: let's say thank you to our volunteers

Updated: May 25, 2020

Nominations have opened for the 2020 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards, giving the local community the opportunity to recommend selfless locals that have stood tall during drought, bush fires and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson, said the contribution of volunteers has never been so important and National Volunteer Week is the perfect time to say thank you.

Mr Anderson stated that he hears so many stories of locals working behind the scenes, not seeking reward, or headlines, to make a difference to people who are in trouble or need a hand.

You can nominate someone in seven different categories including adult volunteer of the year, young volunteer of the year and senior.

You can nominate someone for one of the following seven categories:

  • Adult Volunteer of the Year

  • Volunteer Team of the Year

  • Corporate Volunteer of the Year (Individual)

  • Corporate Volunteer of the Year (Team)
