Bikie gang targeted in North West Police raids


Members of the outlaw bikie gang Bandidos have been targeted in a strike force police investigation this month.


Six homes in Tamworth, Kootingal and Gunnedah were searched on Friday 25th Septmeber as part of investigations by the speically formed Operation Jerichos.


A zombie knife (like the photo above), knuckle busters, steroids and a snake were seized in the raids before Oxley Police served three Firearm Prohibition Orders at three homes in Tamworth, South Tamworth and Kootingal.


Oxley Police District Commander, Superintendent Kylie Endemi, said police will continue to target the disruption of criminal networks, and the unlawful possession of firearms.


“With the assistance of Strike Force Raptor, Oxley Police District will continue to run these high-impact operations not only to target members and associates of outlaw motorcycle gangs, but also to disrupt their activities,” Supt Endemi said.



“We will not tolerate public acts of violence – or any activity – that creates fear and puts the safety of our community at risk."


Police have been conducting surveilance in the local area for some time including requesting CCTV footage from local businesses, frequented by members of the bikie gang.


Supt endemi said police rely on information from the community and encouraged anyone who witnesses suspicous activity to come forward.


“We rely on the community to be our eyes and ears on the street, and if you have any information that could help with our investigation – we want to speak to you, " Supt endemi said.
