Australia's highest daily increase of positive coronavirus cases recorded in VIC alone

In the last 24 hours, Victoria has recorded 484 new positive COVID-19 cases.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has confirmed another two deaths bringing the national death toll to 128 since the pandemic started.

Alarming new analysis reveals 53% of people who are waiting for tests results in Victoria have not been self-isolating.

Mr Andrews said financial concerns have been identified as a key reason people are continuing to go out whilst waiting for tests results.

Health officials have said people who do not isolate while waiting for results are driving transmission and therefore a new hotline has been set up to assist people who do not have sufficient sick leave to stay home.

NSW has recorded 16 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

Hunter New England Health is advising anyone who attended the Windsor Castle Hotel in East Maitland on the 13th July and Salamander Bay Shopping Centre on the 15th July to get tested at the first sign of any symptoms.
