2. Bowls For Casey Fundraiser

Sunday June 16 // Tamworth South Bowling Club // 12pm


A very special fundraising event is happening this Sunday at the South Tamworth Bowling Club.

Bowls for Casey is all about supporting Casey Macaulay and to assist her with travel and accommodation costs associated with ongoing cancer treatment in Sydney.

From the age of two, Casey was diagnosed with a brain tumour, leukemia and has now been faced with a type of skin cancer called Squamous Cell Cancer.

To combat this nasty cancer, she has had to spend much time away from the family in Sydney which has placed a massive financial strain on the family.

Why not come along and enjoy barefoot bowls and delicious food, with auctions, lucky door prizes and raffles on the day to help raise extra funds.


3. Tamworth Greyhound Racing Club Carnival

Saturday June 15 // Tamworth Showground // 1.30pm

There is one cracker of a race card Saturday afternoon at the Tamworth Greyhound Racing Club Cup Carnival!

The first race kicks off at 1:30pm, also featuring the Mikeloren Patisserie Heats, with the final winner taking out $5000.

There’s a $100 lucky gate prize draw, plus the usual bar and canteen facilities, bookmaker and tote.

Adults $7 - Kids are Free.


4. Gunnedah Railway Hotel- family fun day!

Sunday June 16 // Gunnedah Railway Hotel // 12pm – 2pm


Join Good Corn Liquor and friends as they pay tribute to their late singer Stu Mackenzie.

There’ll be some special guests in attendance plus a jumping castle for the kids.

Don’t forget to grab the Railway Hotel’s great lunch and dinner food specials, plus $5 schooners 12-2.

Everyone is welcome to spend a great afternoon of music and fun from 1pm.

Remember the Men in Black movies? They’re back!

Head to the Forum 6 this weekend and see the new MIB team take on other worldly forces, starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson.

7. Tamworth Basketball

Saturday June 15 // Tamworth Sports Dome // from 4pm


The Tamworth Thunderbolts girls are taking on the Dubbo Rams this weekend, so head on down to the Tamworth Sports Dome from 4pm!

The guys will tip off against the Central Coast Rams at 6pm and Scotty and Jack from The Huddle will be broadcasting the game live on 92.9.


8. Tamworth Golf Club

Saturday and Sunday June 15 and 16 // Tamworth Golf Club


Heaps to choose from at the Tamworth Golf Club this weekend, so why not head down on Saturday for the 18 hole 4 man ambrose.

Sunday afternoon is the restricted medley.

And over at the Longyard Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday is 18 hole individual stableford.

9. Tamworth Derby in the North West AFL

Saturday 15th // Tamworth No.1 Oval // 1pm


Enjoy what sunshine we have down at the Tamworth number one oval this Saturday afternoon!

It’s Derby Day in the AFL between the Tamworth Swans and Tamworth Kangaroos and it all gets underway with the Women’s match up starting at 1:05pm.

The men will follow with their game bouncing off at 2:35pm.


10. Captive Nature Exhibition

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June // Weswal Gallery, Brisbane Street


At the Weswal Gallery this weekend, check out the current exhibition “Captive Nature”—a stunning collection of contemporary Australian jewellers, drawing inspiration from the natural world.

Select works from Christine Robinson also on display this month.
