2TM's Top Ten Things to do in Tamworth

Hats off to Country Festival

An incredible line up of talent has descended upon Tamworth for our mid year Country festival! Head to any of the great venues around Tamworth…and catch a selection of the finest Australian country music artists performing. Ashleigh Dallas, Luke O’Shea, Blake O’Connor, Brad Cox, Tori Forsyth, Viper Creek Band, Bushwackers, plus many, many, many more!

Less crowds than January, it a great chance to get up close and personal to some of your favourite Australian artists.

Cowboy Crawl

The 3rd annual Cowboy Crawl - Part of Tamworth City Toyota Hats Off To Country 2019.

A pub crawl visiting some of Tamworth's iconic venues, live country music and fun to be had. Ticket includes bus transportation, a cowboy hat, and a double CD of the 40 years of Star Maker. 

Funds raised go to Ronald McDonald House in Tamworth.

$25 General Ticket, $35 Includes Brad Cox at Moonshiners.

Wean Picnic Races

A huge day on the racing calendar, the annual Wean picnic races is a great day out!  This years theme is 1950-1980’s rock n roll. There’s big prizes for fashions on the field, full betting and TAB facilities, bar and canteen available, and all proceeds will go to the Narrabri branch of Canassist.

Winter Blooming Festival

Winter Blooming is a festival that celebrates Indigenous, multicultural, LGBTIQ arts, culture, communities and allies from across the New England and regional NSW.

The festival has a bold and inclusive program of performances, literature, spoken word poetry, music, and public forums. It will include multiple sessions that offer a range of participation opportunities.

Hosted by the Gunnedah Show Society. This year the course designers are: Arsalan Ansari for RING ONE, Greg Backhouse for RING TWO, Rob Hosegood for RING THREE.

Head to Bunnings and bring home your new baby!  There’s nothing like the love of a rescue animal-help out the Animal Welfare League in Tamworth.

Meditation Workshop

Discover Sahaja Yoga Meditation with the Meditate Australia Tour. Four teams of experienced meditators will travel across the country and give free meditation classes to allow people to learn how to meditate and experience the silence within. 

Come and enjoy our introductory class where you will learn about Sahaja Yoga Meditation techniques, experience guided meditations and enjoy a live performance of spiritually inspired music.

Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes are always free of charge.
