2TM's Top Ten Things To Do in Tamworth

NUMBER 1

Frost Over Barraba Festival

All weekend // Barraba Central School


Frost Over Barraba Arts Festival is a lively arts festival held in the northern inland town of Barraba, it's a celebration of painting, photography, pottery, jewellery, music and much more. 

There's an eclectic mix of art, workshops, good food and fun. There are markets, a vintage Volkswagen rally, a lantern parade and a big fireworks display.


Come and join in right across the weekend at the Barraba Central School.



NUMBER 2

Alice In Wonderland

Sunday 7th July // Tamworth Town Hall // 2pm


A magical portrayal of the classical story Melbourne City Ballet’s Michael Pappalardo (Artistic Director) and Brendan Bradshaw (Artistic Associate) pay homage to the well known novel by Lewis Carroll, Alice In Wonderland, with this enchanting ballet complimented by one of Tchaikovsky’s most famous scores. 


Alice In Wonderland tells the story of a young girl who is whisked away to a magical world of wonder. Falling through a rabbit hole she meets magical creatures both strange and mysterious on her adventure to find her way home. Join the White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter as Alice ventures through Wonderland. 


This all new ballet is perfect for all ages and is a magical portrayal of the classical story. There is a place, like no place on earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! It’s at the Tamworth Town Hall from 2pm on Sunday.

Tamworth Thunderbolts VS Harbour Suns

Saturday 6th July // Tamworth Sports Dome // 5pm


Tamworth Thunderbolts Vs Coffs Harbour Suns – Head along to the Tamworth Thunderdome to catch the Thunderbolts girls in action against the Coffs Harbour Suns from 5pm on Saturday.

Bike, Skoot And Skate Grand Opening

Saturday 6th July // Shop 1A 199 Peel St // 9am


Come help us celebrate the official grand opening of Tamworth Bike Scoot Skate, with lots of great deals, great prices and friendly service, we will have something for everyone!


There will be a BBQ on the day, gold coin donation with proceeds being donated to Youth Insearch, drop in and celebrate with the Bike Scoot Skate Team!

St Joseph's 2019 Junior Campdraft and Fete

Saturday 6th July // Merriwa Showground // 10am


An amazing family day ahead at the Merriwa Showground thanks to St Joseph's Primary School Merriwa P&F Association--it's the 2019 Campdraft and Fete!

Bring the family down for the market and cake stalls, kids activities including face painting and petting zoo, with horse events running all day.

There's also a devonshire tea lunch available plus raffles with some amazing prizes.

Tamworth Craft Shed

Saturday 6th July // 109 Peel Street // 9-2pm


The Tamworth Craft Shed monthly markets are back!

If you're looking for handmade gifts made with love, then come on down as there will be lots of market stalls inside and outside the shed.

You'll find knitting, felt, jewellery, sewing, fudge, candles, woodwork, ceramics, hats and lots more. There are new stalls this weekend, including Fine Art Canvas Miniatures and instant pencil and pastel portraits.

It’s from 9am to 2pm on Saturday at the Tamworth Craft Shed at 109 Peel St.

UNE Trimester 2 Getting Started Session

Sunday 7th July // Tamworth TAFE // 10am


As you kick off your first Trimester at UNE, join the UNE Tamworth team to go through the essentials of get you on track to get started!

The Getting Started Workshop has a Meet & Greet Lunch and you can stay on after the session to meet the other UNE students living and studying in your region!

This is a great opportunity to make connections and share stories with your peers who are also studying regionally. Sunday from 10am at the TAFE.

Scrapbooking Workshop


Head along to the Inspirations Café for a Scrapbooking Workshop.

You can scrapbook the day away with craft, a lot of laughter, a little chocolate, while catching up with friends. Sounds like the perfect way to spend the day! $25 includes papers / kit.
