A 22-year-old man will face Tamworth Local court next Monday after allegedly blowing over four times the legal limit.
Police were called to Calala Lane, South Tamworth Friday 24th at around 11:45 pm after reports a gold Ford Laser was seen driving on the rim of a blown tyre.
A roadside breath test returned a positive result and further analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.215.
The young man is one of four people in the Western Region charged with high range drink driving over the weekend.
Western Region Traffic, Acting Inspector Kelly Wixx, said it is extremely disappointing that drivers continue to consume alcohol before deciding to get behind the wheel and despite COVID-19, police will continue to target drink driving.
